Designed by seasoned executives from industry and government, VIP is the first-ever national center to train SDVOSBs and VOSBs to succeed in Federal contracting. Among the many benefits, four are key:
- Accelerate your growth with market-based, practical training across more than 20 topic areas
- Avoid business land mines and reduce your risk to yourself, teaming partners and customers
- Build relationships with primes and government and establish a network of national teaming partners
- Attend the training free. Participants cover travel to and from the Washington, DC area.
VIP is offered at no cost to participants. The Montgomery County Chamber Community Foundation (MCCCF) funds this program through a public-private partnership made up of a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), support from the State of Maryland and Montgomery County, and private sponsorships. The VIP classes are offered to one executive from each of the enrolled veteran-owned businesses. Class size is limited to 50 individuals. VIP enrollment is open to Veteran-owned businesses nationwide.
In April 2016, VIP START was launched to train service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses (SDVOSB) and veteran-owned small businesses (VOSB) who want to enter or need help to expand their business growth into the federal marketplace. In October 2015, VIP GROW celebrated a milestone achievement of graduating its 500th VIP GROW participant. Since the program launched in 2009, VIP GROW has graduated 638 veteran-owned businesses from 38 states, Washington D.C., and a U.S. Territory.
