Manager, Communications and Marketing
Amy Couch is the Communications and Marketing Manager of the National Veteran Institute for Procurement, the nation’s leading entrepreneurship program specifically for federal procurement.
Amy leads strategic communications to support VIP’s mission, initiatives, and partners, applying her experience in curriculum and program development, marketing, education, editing, and policymaking to accelerate the success of veteran-owned and service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses in the federal marketplace.
Throughout her career, Amy has advanced political, nonprofit, and corporate missions in leadership positions at the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, The Ivymount Corporation, and The American Humanist Association. She combines traditional communications skills with an expertise in political science and community-building to create integrated, innovative solutions that deliver measurable results.
Amy is a published journalist, and prior to VIP, was a senior writer and editor at the American Humanist Association, where she managed a team of political writers supporting an award-winning quarterly magazine of critical inquiry and social concern applied to major American political trends.
Amy was also a Governor nominee to the Maryland State Coordinating Council for Children National Association of Counties (NACo), was awarded the Best Practice Award for New Initiatives and the Best Practice Award of Merit from the Maryland State Department of Education for her work at the Montgomery County Infants and Toddlers Program. Amy is also an Earhart Fellowship recipient.
Amy has a BA in Philosophy and Classics from the University of Tulsa and a MA in Political Science from Fordham University.
