Rockville, MD – The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation's Veterans Institute for Procurement (VIP) has received a $3.75 million, five-year grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The grant funds the Veteran Federal Procurement Entrepreneurship Training Program (VFPETP), a nationwide program that helps Veteran-owned small businesses compete for and win federal contracts.
Located in Montgomery County, Maryland, VIP provides hands-on, market-focused training that equips Veteran-owned small businesses with the knowledge and readiness needed to compete and win in federal procurement. Through this ongoing partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration, 250 Veteran-owned firms annually will gain the skills and confidence they need to secure government contracts, grow their businesses, and strengthen their communities.
At VIP, we train Veteran-owned small businesses to thrive in the highly competitive world of federal procurement. We don't just teach Veteran business owners how to compete, comply, and perform; we equip them with the knowledge, skills, and strategies they need to succeed and sustain in the federal marketplace.
Industry leaders and government experts generously devote their time to deliver classroom instruction across six VIP programs: START, GROW, ADVANCE, INTERNATIONAL, AEROSPACE, and CORPORATE. These seasoned professionals bring decades of real-world experience and invaluable insights, offering a unique opportunity to learn from some of the best.
VIP serves Veteran-owned small businesses (VOSB) and Service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses (SDVOSB) across the United States. Applications are accepted year-round at nationalvip.org.
